Your AC quit. Let’s get it running.
Nobody plans for the AC to die in July. When it happens, you want a licensed tech who shows up, tells you what's actually wrong, and puts the price in writing before touching anything. That's how we've done business since 1999. We repair every major brand of central AC, heat pump, and mini-split across Craven, Jones, Carteret, Pamlico, and Onslow counties.
The calls we get every week
Blowing warm air
Could be a refrigerant leak, a failed capacitor, or a compressor fighting a corroded coil. Corrosion is common this close to the coast. We find the actual cause instead of just topping off refrigerant and hoping.
Running all day, house still hot
When it's 95 out with thick humidity, an aging or undersized system can run nonstop and never catch up. Before anyone tells you to buy a bigger unit, we check the charge, the airflow, and the ducts.
Water around the indoor unit
Usually a clogged condensate drain. They clog constantly in our humidity. Caught early it takes minutes to fix. Ignored, it turns into a stained ceiling, and we happen to fix those too.
Ice on the lines or coil
Ice means low airflow or low refrigerant. Shut the system off, let it thaw, and give us a call. Running it frozen is how compressors die.
Short cycling or tripped breakers
Electrical problems are familiar territory for us. Bender also holds an electrical contractor license, so one visit can cover the breaker, the wiring, and the AC.
Outdoor unit making noise
Fan motors and bearings usually give you some warning before they fail. Salt air shortens their lives around here, so it pays to have a rattle checked before it takes the compressor with it.
Repair or replace? You get the real math.
A repair company earns its reputation on the systems it tells you not to replace. Our techs give you the repair price and an honest read on how much life your system has left. If replacement makes more sense, we'll say so and show you why, including whatever rebates apply. If it doesn't, we fix what's broken and leave. The quote you approve is the price you pay.
- Flat repair pricing in writing before work begins
- Same-day priority for no-cooling calls during business hours
- We work on Trane, Carrier, Goodman, Lennox, Rheem, Daikin, Mitsubishi, and the rest
- Licensed NC HVAC contractor (#19445) with an electrical license under the same roof
Coastal systems wear out differently
Within about fifteen miles of salt water, condenser coils and electrical contacts corrode much faster than they would inland. A system that would last 15 years in Raleigh might get 10 here. We factor that into repair advice, because putting a big repair into a corroded 12-year-old coastal unit is often throwing good money after bad. Every seasonal tune-up we do includes a fresh-water coil rinse to slow the corrosion down.
Straight answers
How fast can you get to me if my AC is out?
No-cooling calls get same-day priority during business hours in cooling season. We run out of Pollocksville, which puts most of New Bern, Jacksonville, and Morehead City within 15 to 35 minutes of our shop.
What does an AC service call cost?
We quote a flat diagnostic fee when you call, so there are no surprises. You get the full repair price in writing before any work starts, and if you approve the repair, the diagnostic goes toward the job.
Should I repair or replace my AC?
Age and repair size drive the answer. The older the system and the bigger the fix, the more replacement makes sense, especially on coastal units past year ten where salt air has already eaten into the remaining life. We put both numbers in front of you, along with any rebates that would apply to a new system, and you decide.
My AC runs constantly but the house stays humid. Is it broken?
Not necessarily. It might be oversized, undersized, leaking ducts, or just outmatched by our summers. Sometimes the right fix is sealing the ductwork or adding a dehumidifier instead of buying more AC. We measure before we recommend anything.
Do you repair systems you didn’t install?
Every day. We don’t care who installed it or how old it is. If it heats or cools a home in our five counties, we’ll work on it.
Ready when you are.
Tell us what’s going on and we’ll call you back promptly during business hours. No-cooling and no-heat calls get same-day priority.
